Cribbage rules

Cribbage is a popular card game that is played with a standard deck of 52 cards and a special board with holes or scoring pegs. The game is played by two players, and the goal is to score points by forming combinations of cards, such as pairs, runs, and flushes.

The game is fast-paced and exciting, and it requires a combination of strategy, skill, and luck to win.

How to play cribbage

  1. To start the game, the players shuffle the deck of cards and deal six cards to each player. The players then look at their cards and choose two cards to discard into a separate pile called the “crib.”
  2. The players then take turns playing cards from their hand, trying to form combinations that will earn them points. The first player plays a card from their hand, and the second player must then play a card from their hand that is either the same rank or the same suit as the first card. For example, if the first card is a 5 of hearts, the second player could play a 5 of any suit or a heart of any rank.
  3. If a player cannot play a card that matches the first card, they must say “Go” and the other player scores one point. The other player then continues to play cards from their hand, trying to form combinations and score points.
  4. The game continues with the players taking turns playing cards and trying to score points until all of the cards have been played. At this point, the players add up the points that they have scored, and the player with the most points wins the game.
