Crazy Eights rules

Crazy Eights is a simple card game for two or more players played with a standard 52-card deck. The goal of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards by matching them to the cards on the table.

How to play Crazy Eights

  1. To start the game, each player is dealt seven cards. The remaining cards are placed face down in the center of the table to form the draw pile. The top card of the draw pile is turned over to begin the discard pile.
  2. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing a card from their hand that matches the suit or rank of the card on the top of the discard pile. For example, if the top card on the discard pile is a red 5, the player can play any red card or any 5.
  3. If the player doesn’t have a card that matches the top card on the discard pile, they must draw a card from the draw pile. If the drawn card can be played, the player can play it immediately. Otherwise, their turn ends and play passes to the next player.
  4. Eights are special cards in Crazy Eights. When an eight is played, the player must declare the suit that the next player must play (for example, “Hearts”). If the next player doesn’t have a card of the declared suit, they must draw a card from the draw pile.
  5. The game continues until one player gets rid of all their cards. That player wins the round, and the other players score points based on the cards remaining in their hands. Face cards are worth 10 points each, and all other cards are worth their face value. The game continues until one player reaches a predetermined score, such as 100 points.
  6. If the draw pile runs out of cards, the discard pile is shuffled and turned over to become the new draw pile, except for the top card, which remains on the discard pile.

Crazy Eights is a fun and easy-to-learn card game that can be enjoyed by players of all ages. It is similar to other card games like UNO and gin rummy, and it can be a great way to pass the time and have some fun with friends and family.
